IN THE WOODS.

 Gibbous moon shyly half hid itself behind the clouds, exposing only half of its beauty. The ground was moist from the evening rain and the air was fresh and crisp. They taste like pure oxygen- it woken all of my nerves making me feel fresh and free. We followed the trails left by the other trekkers, guided by the only light given by the gracious moon. "Are you cold?" he asked. Without uttering a word, I pulled the sleeves of my sweater to cover my hands. Taking that as a cue, he read my mind and held my hands. The moment our hands touched, I can feel my ice cold hand sent a chill down his spine. Taking it as a test, he smiled and held it even tighter translating it into words that say, "I will never let you go." He made me awfully shy; I blushed scarlet and watch my boots sink into the mud in every step I take. I was glowing inside, a kind of warmth that even hot soup cannot give. We sat on a stone bench facing the river with a spectacular view of the busy city lighted brightly by the Christmas lights. But he was a better view, looking so perfect under the silvery moonlight, like an angel in this harsh world. Every minute spend with him is a blessing that takes away all of my sadness, bringing me nothing but happiness. In the cold black sky, the stars blinked innocently bringing in some cheeriness. The faraway city casted a blurry reflection onto the still river water and I am here to witness this perfection with an angel. Every now and then, the wind blew against us like harsh kisses, forcing him to hold me closer. As if it took the hint, the moon retreated completely behind the clouds, dimming the surrounding as the angel leaned in and stole a kiss......... |
