EXAMS.

 Well, if you're in secondary school now, good for you! Your exams are over. Sadly for polytechnic students, we're having our exams now. I'm not sure how you guys study but for me, I have a routine. I won't say I give the best tips but it might be useful! I won't say I'm smart either but I do have a GPA that many would rather have. To score well, you definitely can't wait till the last 2 weeks before exam then you study. Listen in class That's the easiest and the best you can do. Listening in class, clear all doubts, take down notes and you'll realise how much easier it is to study during exam period. Most of the tips are given during lectures, now you know why some got more tips than others? Write your own notes You should write your own notes. Definitely a to-do. Once you know the areas of focus, write your own notes. Write it in point forms, add colours to it. Use green or yellow(ugliest colours, but more effective colours) You should throw in colours to make your notes more interesting and put it in point forms make things easier to understand and remember. Lifestyle You can not study, sleep late and game all night during your normal school days but when it comes to exam period, you NEED to study, eat healthy, drink healthy, sleep early and exercise. You can't change your lifestyle instantly, therefore, start early! Eat berries and nuts, goooooood for brains and yummmmmm! Always drink a lot of water-plain water or juices. Avoid sweet gassy drinks, a little caffeine is fine. Move on I know how people always whine about how badly they have done, but once you leave the exam room, forget it! Whining won't change a single thing about that paper you just submitted. Get some chocolate or ice cream, cheer yourself up and work harder for the next paper. Reward yourself for your hard work. Don't be too hard on yourself. We're only humans. Plan Oh. Don't think writing your own notes is easy. It is not. It's time consuming and dreadful, but effective. DO NOT COPY BLINDLY. What you wanna do is read that topic first and plan how you would wanna write it. I won't say all teachers are great planners. Some notes do suck. Depending on your preference, create it the way you like it. For me, I like to put comparisons in table form, it makes reading a lot easier. And always use the words you would understand, forget all those big words, you're not writing a essay. Always check on words or term you don't understand, don't ignore. Read before&after I learnt in psychology that reading it a few times helps you to remember better. The best you can do is, read your notes before lecture starts and read it again after school. That's a total of 3 times already, you would more or less remember up to 70% of it. When you revise for exams, you recap! That's 4-5 times already. The more you read, the more you remember! I don't know about you guys but for me, I swear people that constantly complain about how low their GPA is, do nothing about it and wish for a GPA 4.0 annoys the hell outta me. Have you heard of Work Bitch by Britney Spears? " You want a hot body? You want a Bugatti? You want a Maserati? You better work bitch You want a Lamborghini? Sippin' martinis? Look hot in a bikini? You better work bitch You wanna live fancy? Live in a big mansion? Party in France? You better work bitch " What more do I have to say? Things do not just drop down from the sky. GPA 4.0 is not something people can send it to you like Farmville, YOU NEED TO WORK FOR IT! Forget everything after you finish your papers. HAHAHA! Kiddings. Or maybe not.... All the best! |
