DESTINATION OR JOURNEY?

 Have you ever look back and thought, "Wow! 5 years went by so quickly!" And when you look forward, 5 years is a long time. Why? The past is the journey you've been through, the future is your destination. If you just wanna rush to your destination, you'll realise that time passes too slowly, but if you take your time and enjoy the process, you'll arrive at your destination within a blink of an eye. Your destination/goal is what keeps you going and give you direction. Without it, you'll be lost and wasting each day aimlessly. But one should never be too eager to reach it's goal for more haste, less speed. Trying to rush things will often only mess things up. Think about something you're proud of. Straight As result. New car. 21km run. Anything you're proud of. What is that you miss? The moment you finish/achieve it or the times you kept pushing yourself to go further and be better? I wouldn't say I've done fantastic for my O levels but good enough for me. To be honest, I don't miss the moment I got my result. I miss the times I stayed up till 2am just to finish up assignments, studying at McDonalds, night study session and all the extra lessons we have after school every single day. That's what I miss. Biology every Saturday morning. Chemistry consultation every now and then when I'm failing. (Pure sciences is really not easy) Many people focus too much on their goal and missed out the fun in the journey. That's how we all missed out all the little things in life. Nobody walks slow to look at flowers anymore. Nobody notices the stars that shine so brightly anymore. People only look where they are heading because destination is all that matters now. Well, I still stop and stare at cats, sometimes meow a little. I walk slowly home at night just so I have a little more time with the stars. "Focus on the journey, not the destination.
