❝ Chase your dreams ❞
the world in a different light

Before I go study for my End of Semester Test, I shall do a quick post.

One main reason why my new year resolution is to give back to the community is because of all these unfairness in the world. What have they done to deserve all this? You suffer throughout your young life and when you're old, you can't even enjoy? I have a very soft spot for elderly..... It aches my heart to see them alone or have difficulty to even walk. Look at the poor, our trash is their gold!

Came alone to a foreign land, worked so hard and paid peanuts. Yet they are still happy. We Singaporeans, $5 per hour we complain, we think it's too little. They are only paid $1.50 per hour! Are our work any harder than theirs? Sometimes, all they really want is for someone to appreciate them and not judge them by their skin colour.

Thumbs up to Ian. I don't really care if he published it to gain attention or trying to portrait Republic Poly as a place with kind people or whatever. There are kind people everywhere, it's just how observant you are to your surrounding. Back to Ian, he actually gave his angbao money to the construction workers when many of us would just spent it on ourselves. He said, "I really want to make a Singapore a better place and while I'm just one guy in a city of over five million people, kindness has to start somewhere, right?" Yes boy, you're right! It gotta start somewhere.

The thing about Singaporean is we criticise more than we praise and we complain more than we compliment. I don't know him personally, but who cares? So what if he has a bad reputation in school? At least he made a difference in some of the foreign workers' lives! What about those top students and role models? Did they actually go an extra mile to make someone's life better? No? Exactly! No! Why do we always magnify people's flaws and ignore their kindness? We all have a heart that beats, we have feelings. To the people that have done nothing but judged, please ask yourself, have you ever went an extra mile to make a stranger's life better, voluntary?

Unless you're saying it's all an act, like he demanded the angpaos to be returned after the photo was taken. If that's the case, he shall rot in hell. But I doubt it. Whatever it  is, let this motivate you to go make someone's life better.

It rained!

I'm a walking sunshine and I blog about everything and anything under the Sun. And, I might have a slight obsession with Jigsaw puzzles, Snow globes and Stars.
